Kidderminster Harriers 2-2 Bury
After rushing home from work, Glenn got a lift down to Gigg Lane and waited for the Minibus travelling to Worcestershire. We set off just after 11am, with all 12 seats on the minibus filled. The journey to Kiddy was largely uneventful and we made good time, arriving at 13.15. We parked up and set about sorting the sweepstake for the Grand National. Everyone had 2 horses and the remaining horses were taken by those who wanted extra ones. Once this was sorted, we made our way into the Kiddy Social Club for a drink. We relaxed and chatted for about an hour. At 14.35 we made our way round to the away end and met up with Stu and Mark, who had made their way down earlier with the BFC fans team. Bury made a tidy start and scored through Chris Porters 10th of the season from a corner. As per usual, Bury shot themselves in the foot and from a poor Garner clearance, Sturrock equalised for the Harriers. The game was quite scrappy after that and it was 1-1 at half time. The second half was very similar until a cross from the right was headed home by Keates to put Kiddy in the lead with 10mins left. Most Bury fans were expecting defeat but in injury time Ricky Shakes popped up to head in from another corner.
All in all it was a poor game and Kidderminster’s obvious need to win made it a scrappy game. We all got back on the minibus and got back to a cold, damp Bury at 19.30.
